Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has openly spoken out against former PTI leaders Jahangir Tareen and Aleem Khan over their differences.
The former prime minister said in a social media podcast yesterday that both leaders had worked hard for the PTI and had joined the party eleven years ago.
He claimed the disagreements arose over the formation of a Chinese commission on Jahangir Tareen, while Aleem Kham took 300 acres of land in the Ravi River to legalise. “Aleem Khan had hoped that I would legalise his 300-acre plot of land near Ravi. I had some disagreements with him.”
Both parties have formed an alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), according to Imran Khan. “These two people would be with me today if they shared my ideology.” Aleem Khan, according to the former prime minister, had NAB cases as well.
When asked about Jahangir Tareen, the PTI chairman stated that his issue was the sugar crisis, which prompted the formation of a commission. “Tareen stood with the country’s most notorious criminals. When I ordered an investigation into the matter, Tareen and I disagreed.”
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had previously dismissed the government’s announcement to establish a commission of inquiry into foreign correspondence, claiming that only a commission established by an independent judiciary would be recognised.
Fawad Chaudhry, speaking at a press conference with PTI leaders in Islamabad, said that the people of Pakistan would accept only commissions that are overseen by an independent judiciary and whose proceedings are broadcast live.
On the issue of Farah Khan, Fawad Chaudhry stated that there is no charge against Farah, and that a press conference is held against him every day. Since the government has received no evidence against Imran Khan, such measures are being taken.
